Prof. Fahmuddin Agus, Senior Researcher at the Indonesian Soil Research Institute In Bogor is a member of the sterring committee of Margot Moulin, SPOP Ph.D. student. He is invited by SPOP to come to Montpellier, from 6. to 11. July, to attend Margot's committee and meet with the researchers from the SPOP project and furthers scientists from Cirad and more. Born in Bukittinggi, Sumatera, Fahmuddin Agus earned his BS degree from Andalas University in Indonesia in 1983. His master and doctoral degrees in soil science were from North Carolina State University (NCSU), Raleigh, USA in 1989 and 1993. He is a senior soil scientist at Indonesian Soil Research Institute (ISRI). He coordinates ISRI’s climate change related research under the ASB Partnership consortium and under the national research programme. He is also actively engaged in sustainable natural resources management and climate change mitigation fora, including the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and a lead author of the 2013 IPCC Supplement on Wetland Emissions.

A Ph.D. position within the SPOP project is opened for 3 years starting in September 2014. The topic concerns the improvement of the modelling of the nitrogen balance in oil palm plantations to reduce uncertainty of life cycle assessment (LCA). More details...

The projects selected within the ANR Agrobiosphere call in 2011, will be presented during a seminar on May 16. 2014 in Paris. This meeting will bring together scientists from 6 projects and the ANR scientific steering committee.

The 2nd Ph.D. steering committee of Margot Moulin will take place on July 7. 2014 in Montpellier. The researcher, Dr. Fahmuddin Agus, who is part of this committee, will come to Montpellier and take this opportunity to meet with the SPOP researchers and further researchers at Cirad.
